The committee's purpose is to:

• Inspect the workplace to identify injury hazards for employees.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, or any other hazardous situations to determine their original causes.
• Recommend corrective measures to the employer following inspections and investigations.

The Health and Safety Committee will also be consulted by the employer during procedural changes, the addition of new equipment, or any workplace changes that could impact health and safety.
